Common questions
A price looks wrong
It might be. Prices are collected from supermarket websites periodically, so they can be out of date, and matching a supermarket listing to an everyday ingredient is imperfect. The app flags lines where the data looks obviously wrong, but it cannot catch everything. Always check in store.
Why is my shopping list more expensive than the recipe says?
Because they answer different questions. The recipe shows what one serve costs in ingredients. The shopping list shows what you actually pay at the till, which means whole packs — a bag of oats, not the 50 g of it your porridge uses. The rest stays in your pantry for next time.
Do I need an account?
No. Everything works signed out. An account only exists so your settings can follow you to a new phone.
How do I share a list with my household?
Profile → Household sync → create a household, then type that code into the other phone. Treat the code like a house key: anyone who has it can see and change the shared list.
How do I delete my account?
Profile → Account → Delete my account. It is permanent. Meal plans and recipes on your phone are kept, and the app keeps working signed out.
Photos of recipes — where do they go?
Nowhere. The text is read on your phone and the photo is never uploaded. See the privacy policy.
Reporting a problem
The most useful bug report names the recipe or product, the supermarket, and what you expected to see. If a price looks wrong, a photo of the shelf label is worth a great deal.
